Practise the decisions that are difficult to rehearse at work.
A confident discussion is useful. Having to weigh incomplete evidence, challenge a colleague and commit to a decision gives people something more concrete to learn from. Board Marshal Simulator creates that practice through four interactive formats for educators, leadership teams and facilitators.
Who it is for and how to access it
For directors, business leaders, educators and learners practising governance, risk, crisis and negotiation decisions. The separate Board Marshal Simulator platform currently provides product information, host login and participant entry using a session code. Open the platform to choose a format and the appropriate role. New host access arrangements must be confirmed; Chase & Marshal facilitation is optional.
Choose the pressure you want people to work through
Use Boardroom for collective governance decisions, Risk Committee for operational risk, Crisis Room for executive incident response, or Negotiation Room for a difficult commercial conversation. Each format gives participants a situation to act on and evidence to revisit afterwards.
Boardroom: contribute, challenge and decide
Participants receive a fictional board briefing and a confidential director profile. Different responsibilities and private information shape the discussion. The seven-seat format brings together up to four human participants and three AI directors.
The board assesses risks, tests recommendations and votes on structured dilemmas. Team and individual reports draw on contributions, risk actions and decisions so the facilitator can examine what happened and why.
Three more ways to put judgement into practice
Risk Committee puts groups of two or three to work on uneven information, controls and a shared risk register. Independent votes, a heatmap and recorded rationale support the debrief.
Crisis Room runs an executive cyber-incident exercise through three controlled escalation rounds. The facilitator releases intelligence and AI executives contribute recommendations. An authorised human confirms consequential actions, with a leadership debrief and scorecard for review.
Negotiation Room is a one-to-one exercise with an authored counterpart and a material hidden constraint. Participants use questions, evidence, private notes and an Adviser to work towards an agreement. Cohort analytics help facilitators examine the process.
Make the debrief about specific choices
Which evidence changed the decision? What went unchallenged? Whose information never reached the group? Recorded actions help facilitators move beyond general impressions and connect the exercise to the learning goals.
Discuss the audience, format and facilitation you need. We can help select an exercise and shape the session around governance, collaboration, risk or negotiation.
Questions answered
Who is Board Marshal Simulator for?
Business schools, leadership programmes, director development groups and organisational learning teams can use the formats. Risk, operations and technical teams may also find the Risk Committee and Crisis Room exercises relevant.
Can we run a session ourselves?
Independent use and supported sessions can be discussed. Access, participant arrangements and facilitator requirements depend on the format. An enquiry helps establish what your group needs.
Are the reports a professional assessment?
The reports support learning and facilitated reflection. They are not validated psychometric assessments, professional certification or a measure of suitability to serve as a director.
